Martha M. was born on March 29th, 1859 in Screven Co., GA.1   Martha M.'s father was William Newton and her mother was Jemima Parker.  Her maternal grandparents were James Parker and Elizabeth Sasser. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, James Madison, Augustus R., George M., Mary Elizabeth, Jane A. and Cynthia Ann.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 70 on August 18th, 1929.1
