James Moore 
James was born in 1642 in Eng/Ireland.1 James' father was Roger Moore. He was an only child. He died at the age of 64 in 1706 in Charleston, SC.1 General Notes

CHIEF Justice of Carolina 1700, Gov. of Province 1700-03, at death of Joseph
Blake. The people of Chrles Town organized an expedition against the Spanish
under command of James Moore, 1680's. James elected Governor 1700. Man of
decision and action. Sent fleet against Spanish and French down to St.
Augustine. He used own money when no longer Governor to quell the Apalachees.
The Brave Moore, victom of yellow fever 1706 and died penniless.
