Austin Upshaw was born on December 6th, 1898.1   Austin Upshaw's father was James Marion Mincey and his mother was Laura Jane Franklin.  His paternal grandparents were Abraham Mincey and Elizabeth Ann Moore; his maternal grandparents were Mitchell Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Hendricks. He had six brothers and five sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Thomas Harvey, Ezra Van Buren, Otis Sawyer, Ben Mitchell, James Cleveland, Watson Grady, Ellen Virginia, Edna M., Annie Beatrice, Bessie Elizabeth, Olga H., Mincey and Mincey.  He was the youngest of the fourteen children.  He died at the age of 68 on July 26th, 1967.  He was buried in Bulloch Co., GA.1 1
