William was born in 1586 in Little Munden, Hertfordshire, England.1   William's father was John Kirby and his mother was Joan Cranfield. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Francis, John, Joan, Ruth and Ruth.  He was the second youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 74 in 1660 in Hertfordshire, England.1
