Thelma was born on April 1st, 1919.  Thelma's father was Jack Kalfleish and her mother was Susan A. Sitter.  Her maternal grandparents were Jacob C. Sitter and Anne Marie Forsyth. She had a sister named Thelma Helen.  She was the older of the two children. She had five half-brothers and six half-sisters, named William Ernest, George Arthur, Frances Ann, Stanley, Harold, Ethel May, Beatice Phobie, Mildred Ann, Irene Elizabeth, Bessie Jean and Ruth.
