Jane was born about 1668 in Rappahannock, Virginia.1   Jane's father was Robert Hopkins and her mother was Katherine. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Robert, George, Thomas, Robert, Katherine and Margaret.  She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.1
