1   Edith's father was Charlie Hook and her mother was Emma Jane Clifton.  Her paternal grandparents were John Hook and Ann Unknown; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Clifton and Mary Ann Leaton. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Leonard, Victor, Walter Or Wallace, Nellie, Violet and Ethel.  She died in 1974.1
