Ruth was born in 1640 in Malden, Massachusets.1   Ruth's father was Abraham Hill and her mother was Sarah Long.  Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Hill and Alice Unknown; her maternal grandparents were Robert Long and Sarah Taylor.  She was an only child.  She died in Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusets.1
