Frank E. was born on February 14th, 1895 in Mission San Jose, CA..1 Frank E.'s father was Joseph Gomes and his mother was Marion A. Levada. His maternal grandparents were John A. Levada and Mary A. Garcia. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Fred, Edward J., August, Raymond, Samuel, Evelyn, Helen, Irene and Josephine. FRANK E. GOMES Frank E. Gomes, a San Mateo resident the past 69 years,
died at his home Friday. He was 99. A native of Mission San Jose, Mr.
Gomes was a retired letter carrier. He was also a life member of several
organizations: American Leigon Post 82 of San Mateo, 40 & 8, Disabled
American Veterans and the National Associations of Letters Carriers. His
son, Gene, died five years ago. He is survived by his daughter, Polly of
New york; his sister, Josephine Mele of Millbrae; four grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren. The funeral procession will leave at 9 a.m.
Wednesday from Sneider & Sullivan Funeral Home, 977 S. El Camino Real,
San Mateo, for a 9:30 Mass in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 1 Notre Dame
Ave., San Mateo. Friends may visit the mortuary after 9 a.m. Tuesday,
and a vigil service will be held there at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial
will be in Golden Gate national Cemetery in San Bruno. The family
prefers donations to Maryknoll Sisters, Maryknoll N.Y., 10545.
