John was born in North Carolina?.1   John's father was Peter Finn and his mother was Mary Wheeler.  His paternal grandfather was Shadrack Finn. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Thomas Peter, Shadrack, Meshach, Abednigo, William, Benjamin, Mary, Nancy, Alethia, Isabellia and Rebecca.1
