John was born on September 22nd, 1721 in ?Middletown, RI ?.1   John's father was John Fendin and his mother was Martha Waight.  His maternal grandparents were Abraham Waight and Tabitha Nichols.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 45 in 1766 in St. Helena, SC.1
