Lavius was born in 1793 in Lisbon, CT.1   Lavius' father was Erastus Farnham and his mother was Zernah Knight.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Farnham and Abigail Rudd; his maternal grandparents were Phineas Knight and Abigail Unknown.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 42 in 1835.1
