Marguerite's father was Pierre Doucet and her mother was Francoise Sylvestre.  Her maternal grandparents were Nicolas Sylvestre and Barbe Nepveu. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Athanese, Pierre, Joseph, Michel, Marie Genevieve, Marie Joseph, Laurent Modeste and Marie Anges.
