Joseph Doty 
Joseph was born on April 30th, 1651 in Plymouth Co., Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 Joseph's father was Edward Doty and his mother was Faith Clarke. His paternal grandparents were John Douty and Anne Holland; his maternal grandparents were Thurston (Tristam) Clarke and Faith. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Edward, John, Thomas, Samuel, Isaac, Desire, Elizabeth and Mary. He died at the age of 80 on May 3rd, 1731 in Rochester, Massachusetts.1 General Notes

On October 27, 1674, Elizabeth Warren (daughter of Nathaniel and Sarah (Walker) Warren and granddaughter of Richard Warren) accused Joseph Doty in court of fathering her unborn child; and he was placed under bond to appear at the next court in March to make further answer respecting the same. However, no later record of the matter appears in the court records.
Joseph Doty was "of Sandwich" July 6, 1680 in a court action. But he was of Scippican (Rochester) by the time his son Joseph was born, on March 31, 1683.
In March 1727/8 Court, a complaint was brought against Theophilus Doty, Joseph Doty, Jr., Ellis Doty, John Doty, and Joseph Edwards, all Rochester husbandmen, "children of Joseph Doty" for not providing for their father and mother Joseph Doty of Rochester and wife. In hte March 1728/9 Court, Joseph doty Sr. of Rochester complained that his son Joseph Doty Jr. would not provide the support the Court had ordered.
On May 3, 1731, Joseph Doty of Rochester in his 81st year appeared before a magistrate to certify boundary lines.
