Emily F. was born in May 1869 in Screven Co., GA.¹ Emily F.'s father was Thomas Bragg and her mother was Susan Ann Burke. Her paternal grandparents were John Bragg and Mary Sasser. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named David, James, Thomas, William, Lawson, John, Henry, Nancy, Susan J., Elizabeth J., Sarah and Minnie J.. She was the second youngest of the thirteen children.¹
