1   Jacob's father was William Boyer and his mother was Lydia Metzgar.  His paternal grandparents were William Boyer and Katharine. He had a brother named Samuel. He had two half-brothers and six half-sisters, named John, William W., Matilda, Mollie, Pamelia, Phoebe, Ami and Ella.1
