Her paternal grandparents were William Battersby and Elizabeth; her maternal grandparents were William Lilley and Mary. She had a brother and seven sisters, named William, Ellen, Elizabeth, Mary, Mary Ann, Hannah, Jane Lily and Margaret.1 -
