Peter was born about 1656.1   Peter's father was James Barker and his mother was Barbara Dungan.  His paternal grandfather was James Barker; his maternal grandparents were William Dungan and Frances Latham. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James, Joseph, William, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah and Christianna.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.1
