1   W. D.'s father was John Barber and his mother was Nancy Burras.  His maternal grandparents were William Burras and Abigail Jeffries. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Cassius, H. J., John, Reuben, Richard S., Betsey Ann, Abigail, Nancy Jane and Sarah.  He died before 1903.1
