Bancroft 
Bancroft was born about 1553 in Chellaston, Derby, England.1 Bancroft's father was John Bancroft and his mother was Margaret Hollingsworth. His paternal grandfather was William Bancroft. He had three brothers and a sister, named William, Ralph, Thomas and Margaret. He was the second youngest of the five children.1 General Notes
