Marie von Battenberg 
Marie was born in 1852. Marie's father was Alexander von Hessen and the Rhine and her mother was Julia von Battenberg von Hauke. Her paternal grandparents were Ludwig II von Hessen und dem Rhein and Wilhelmina von Baden; her maternal grandparents were John Maurice von Hauke and Sophie la Fontaine. She had four brothers named Louis Prinz, Alexander, Henry Maurice and Franz Joseph. She was the oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 71 in 1923.
