Christophoricus was born on February 16th, 1599.1   Christophoricus' father was Ludwig Sommer and his mother was Margarethe Reiser. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Konrad, Martinicus, Anna, Magdelene, Maria, Margarethe, Margarethe, Barbara and Margarethe.  He was the third youngest of the ten children.1
