Theodoros I Emperor vom Byzantinischen was born about 1175 in Of, Nicaea, Bursa, Turkey.¹   Theodoros I Emperor vom Byzantinischen's father was Manolis Laskaris and his mother was Ioanna Karatzaina (Phok. He had six brothers named Manolis, Georgios, Konstantinos, Alexios, Isaak and Duke Laskaris.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died in August 1222.¹
