Charles "The Hammer" was born in 0676.1 Charles "The Hammer"'s father was Pepin II d'Heristal Duke von Austrasia and his mother was Elphide (Chalpaida). His paternal grandparents were Anchises (Ansegisel) and Doda (St. Begga). He had a brother named Childebrand. He died in Ciersy.1
