Simon I Duke was born about 1072.1 Simon I Duke's father was Thierry Duke von Alsace Lorraine and his mother was Hedwig Countess von Formbach. His paternal grandparents were Gerhard III (Iv) Lorraine and Hedwig von Namur; his maternal grandfather was Frederick Formbach. He had a half-brother named Dietrich (Thierry). He died on April 19th, 1139.1 -
