Absalom was born on July 3rd, 1604.1   Absalom's father was Georg Groetzinger and his mother was Christiana Spengler. He had three brothers and nine sisters, named Georg, Sebastian, Absalom, Anna, Katharina, Margarethe, Magdelene, Anna, Christiana, Christiana, Margarethe and Sebastian.  He was the second youngest of the thirteen children.1
