Robert was born about 1106 in Of, Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, England.1 Robert's father was Robert II (Doyley) von Oilly and his mother was Edith Fitzforne. His paternal grandparents were Nigel von Oilly and Agnes; his maternal grandparents were Forne Fitzsigulf and Mrs-Forne Fitzsigulf. He had two brothers and a sister, named Henry, Gilbert and Edith (Doyley). He was the youngest of the four children.1 -
