Richard was born about 1130 in Tonbridge, Kent, Englandq.1   Richard's father was Gilbert De Clare and his mother was Eliz\Isabel von Beamont.  He was an only child.  He died on April 9th, 1176 in Dublin, Dublin, Ireland.1
