Brico was born about 0856.  Brico's father was Ragnvald I Eysteinsson and his mother is Ragnchild Hiltrude Hrolfdottir.  His paternal grandparents are Eystein Glumra and Ascrida Ragnvaldsdottir; his maternal grandfather is Hrolf Nefia of Norway. He had three brothers named Hrollager, Einar Turf and Rollo.  He is the second oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother named Rolf.
