Eupheme was born about 1360 in Glenesk, Aberdeen, Scotland.  Eupheme's father was Alexander Lindsay and her mother was Catherine Stirling.  Her paternal grandparents were David Lindsay and Maria Abernethy; her maternal grandfather is John Stirling. She had two brothers named David and Alexander.  She is the second oldest of the three children.

‌Eupheme and David were married in a religious ceremony about 1376.  They had a daughter named Euphemia.
