Alexander was born about 1768 in County Tyrone, Ireland. Alexander's father was James Hunter. His paternal grandfather is ? Hunter. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Samuel, Henry, William, Jane and Daughter. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He died before 1840.General Notes
