Robert was born about 1070 in Whorlton In Cleveland, Yorkshire, England.  Robert's father is Gilbert De Meynell.  His paternal grandfather is Herbert De Meynell.  He was an only child.  He died in 1134 in Meynell Langley, Kirk Langley, Derbyshire, England.
