Philip was born about 1142 in Harringworth, Northamptonshire, England. Philip's father is Philip De Belmeis and his mother was Maud De Meschines. His paternal grandfather is Walter De Belmeis; his maternal grandparents were William De St Pierre De Meschines and Cecily De Rumilly. He had a brother and a sister, named Ranulph and Adeleza. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother named Roger II. He died before 1190.-
