Llywarch ap was born about 1107 in Menai, Anglesey, Wales.  Llywarch ap's father is Bran ap Dinawal.  His paternal grandfather is Dinawal ap Tudwal. He has two sisters named Perwyr verch and Hunydd verch.  He is the youngest of the three children.
