Walter was born about 1077 in of Folkingham, Lincoln, England. Walter's father was Gilbert de Gant and his mother is Alice\Emma de Montfort. His paternal grandparents were Raoul de Gant and Gisele\Gisla of Luxembourg. He was an only child. He died in 1139.-
