Adeliza was born in 1080 in Tunbridge, Kent, England. Adeliza's father was Gilbert De Clare and her mother was Adeliza De Clermont. Her paternal grandparents were Richard De Clare and Rohese Giffard; her maternal grandparents were Hugh De Creil and Margaret De Roucy. She had two brothers and a sister, named Richard, John Fitz Gilbert and Rohese. She was the oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 83 in 1163 in of Great Addington and Drayton, co. Middlesex, England.-
