Her paternal grandparents were Emery Harford Sargent and Julia Ophelia Waite. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Robert Hartford, Verle Stanley Howard, Donna Margaret Ophelia, Vione N., Garnet A., Marian P., Lois Earlein and Evelyn W.. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 61 on January 17th, 1979 in Cedar Rapids, Linn County Iowa. She was buried in Cedar Rapids, Linn County Iowa.1 -
