Cyrus was born on August 24th, 1824 in Candia, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Cyrus' father was Rufus Sargent and his mother was Ruth Wadleigh. His paternal grandparents were Moses Sargent and Sarah Shannon. He had a brother and two sisters, named Jesse W., Sarah A. and Theodosia G.. He is the oldest of the four children.-
