Lela Vetress (Chink) was born on September 21st, 1912 in Big Creek Twp., Oscoda County, Mi.. Lela Vetress (Chink)'s father was Charles Robert Mitchell and her mother was Luetta Jane Shreve. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson Shreve and Rosella Lillie. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Alger J., Everett Ward (Pick), Charles (Bing), Johnny Ray (Peanut), Donald Forrest (Toad), Richard Leland (Bug), Myrtle Arilla, Irene Gladys and Ethel Mae. She was the second oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 83 on September 23rd, 1995 in Kalamazoo, Mi.-
