His paternal grandparents are Simeon Green and Sarah Ann Hadley. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Kenneth M., Harold Alfred, Robert Silas, Bernice Hayden and Marguerite A.. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 76 in October 1979 in Keene, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.-
