John L was born on November 4th, 1878 in Steuben County New York. John L's father was George Eaton and his mother was Phena Sprague. His paternal grandparents are John Eaton and Martha Sargent; his maternal grandparents were John L Sprague and Charlotte Chase. He had two brothers and a sister, named Charles W, Lester and Charlotte. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 83 on February 1st, 1962 in Urbana, Steuben, New York.-
