Hugh De Mortimer 
Hugh was born in 1084. Hugh's father was Ralph de Mortimer and his mother was Millicent of Mers. His paternal grandparents are Roger de Mortermer and Hawise of Valois. He was an only child. He died at the age of 65 in 1149 in Cleobury.General Notes
Founded the Abbey at Wigmore

Hugh Mortimer opposed the accession of King Henry II on the death of King Stephen, and as result he was taken prisoner and detained until he paid a ransom of 3000 marks of silver. He built the Abbey of Wigmore, which was begun by his father, and in his old age he became a conon there.
