Her paternal grandparents were Willoughby Colby and Betsey M. Morgan. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Charles H., Milton, John A., Sarah E., Lucina M., Maretta and Martha L.. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 78 on January 11th, 1924 in Piermont, Grafton County, New Hampshire.
