John L. Colby 
John L. was born about 1836 in New Hampshire. John L.'s father was David Colby and his mother was Polly Batchelder. His maternal grandparents are David Batchelder and Hannah Kimball. He had five brothers named Harvey, Silas, Edwin, Kimball and Martin. He was the youngest of the six children. He died on September 23rd, 1858 in New Hampshire.-
