Aslaug was born about 0790 in Jutland, Denmark.  Aslaug's father was Sigurd Ragnardsson and her mother is Heluna (Bleja) Unknown.  Her paternal grandfather was Ragnar Sigurdsson and her paternal grandmother is Aslaug Sigurdsdatter; her maternal grandfather is Ella Unknown. She had two brothers and a sister, named Knud, Horda Knut and Thora.  She is the oldest of the four children.
