Her paternal grandparents were Ioannis Dukas and Irini Pegonitissa; her maternal grandfather was Trajan Bulgaria and her maternal grandmother is Kontostephane Aballantia. She had a brother and two sisters, named Michael, Irene and Anna. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 57 on February 19th, 1123 in Constantinople, , , Turkey.-
