Nithard's father was Charles Martel Caroling and his mother is Rotrude De Treves.  His paternal grandmother is UNKNOWN UNKNOWN; his maternal grandmother is UNKNOWN UNKNOWN. He had a brother named Carloman. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Carloman, Pepin, Bernard, Hieronymous and Bertha.
