John was born about 1620 in England. John's father was John Ball and his mother is Joanna King. His paternal grandfather was William Ball and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth UNKNOWN; his maternal grandfather was William King. He was an only child. He died on September 10th, 1675 in Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts.General Notes
BIOGRAPHY: John Ball lived at Lancaster for a short time i
n 1643, but otherwise resided at Watertown until about 1670
. He was very troubled by the insanity of his first wife
, which necessitated a separation until her death.
DEATH: John Ball, his second wife, and two of his childre
n were killed by Indians, February 20, 1675/6 at Lancaster
. Two of the Ball children were taken into captivity.
