George W Runyan 
George W was born in 1852 in Ohio.1 George W's father was Nathaniel Runyan. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Runyan and Hannah Bostwick. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William Harrison, James Martin, Myron Bronson, Orange Spencer, Victoria Immogene, Levina and Phebe Alvira. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 82 on November 5th, 1934.2 General Notes
George W. Runyan and his wife Carrie Messenger...looks like these may predate their wedding date of 1872. It was said that Carrie was an excellent type setter and proof reader, and she was working at the newspaper when George took it over. After working together for a while, they married. They worked the newspaper for forty years together before retiring. I'm not sure how many couples could work together that many years and still stay married! They had two daughters, Lena and Marie.
