Parnell was born on February 28th, 1776 in New Milford, Litchfield, Connecticut, USA.1 Parnell's father was Matthew Bostwick and her mother was Rebecca Wheeler. Her paternal grandmother was Jemima Canfield. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Orange, Adoniram, Alvin, Shelburne, Mirum, Huldah, Charlotte, Shellburn and Almeria. She is the fifth youngest of the ten children.-
